Are you an artist looking for a place to share your work, meet other creatives, and be a part of Anchorage's vibrant art community? Our Open Call for Art and monthly Group Shows are designed for artists of all ages and skill levels to showcase their art and connect with others.

Whether you’re an experienced artist or picking up a paintbrush for the first time, we invite you to submit a piece to our themed Group Shows. Four times a year, we host Open Calls for specific mediums, so you can explore different styles and express yourself in fresh ways!

About Our Group Shows and Receptions

Quarterly Shows and Gatherings
Each Group Show is open for the entire month, with artwork displayed in our main gallery space at Blaine’s Art. Every show kicks off with a welcoming reception on the 2nd Saturday of the month from 4-5 PM. These casual gatherings are a fantastic opportunity to connect with other artists and art lovers, enjoy snacks, and simply celebrate creativity in a relaxed community atmosphere.

All displayed pieces are available for purchase. It’s an inspiring way to experience art up close and support Anchorage’s local talent. So come on by, wander our space, and find a piece that speaks to you.

Receptions will be held on the 2nd Saturday of each show month from 4-5 PM. Join us to celebrate each medium’s unique beauty and discover new talent!

How to Participate

Are you ready to be part of our next show? Here’s what you need to know:

• Who: Everyone! Artists of all ages and skill levels.
• What: A themed Group Art Show featuring a specific medium.
• Where: Blaine’s Art, 1025 Photo Ave
• When: Drop off your work during the last week of the month prior to the show (for example, if the show is in May, drop off the last week of April and pick up the 1st week in June). 
• Why: Because it’s fun, inspiring, and a great way to connect with other artists!
• How: Just bring it in! No approval process.

Frequently Asked Questions

Submission Details:

• How to Hang: All artwork must have a wire on the back for our hanging system (sawhorses, hooks, and holes won’t work). Need help? Our frame shop can add a wire for you for $5.00.
• Quantity: Submit one piece per artist.
• Content: We aim to keep the show family-friendly. (We’ll review subject matter on a case-by-case basis.)
• Space Limitation: We hang on a first-come, first-hung basis until the walls are full.

Sales & Fees
Yes, you can sell your artwork! Blaine’s Art handles all sales and retains a 25% fee to support these community events.
