Frequently Asked Questions:
Kid’s Camps & Workshops

What age range is the art camp suitable for?

  • The art camp is suitable for all school age students. The camp format may be better for younger students due to the shorter time frame. The workshop format may be better for older kids who are okay with being present for a long time. All school age children are welcome to enroll in either.

What kind of art activities will my child be doing?

  • The camps and workshops will be focused around projects. For each camp we will work on projects with a specific medium. The projects are both abstract and realistic, and may include landscapes, animals, and portraits.

What is the expected itinerary?

  • For the art camps, an instructional group painting will be completed first. Time permitting, the students will then be able to freely create their own piece after the instructional time is over. At the one hour mark, the students will have a break, and, weather permitting, will be able to enjoy their break on Blaine’s Art Supply’s fenced in patio. This itinerary will be the same for all four days of the camp, but projects will vary during the separate sessions.

  • Each workshop will start off with one or two group projects with a break at each hour and a snack at the two hour mark. An opportunity for the children to create their own piece will be provided after the instructional group projects.

Are snacks provided?

  • No food will be provided for the camps, but your children are welcome to eat or drink anything they bring.

  • For workshops, a small snack will be provided, however, if your child has allergies, please make sure they have an appropriate snack packed.

What is the cancellation or refund policy?

  • You may cancel or reschedule into another future camp prior to the start of the camp or workshop. However, after the camp or workshop begins, no refunds will be issued.

How will my child benefit from attending the art camp?

  • The instructor will meet your child at your child’s ability level, helping them develop their skills in the following: composition, value, color mixing, medium usage, and drawing. These skills will help develop your child’s confidence and creativity.
