Zoom - Watercolor I

This class is taught remotely over Zoom. Watercolor I will provide you with an introduction into the materials and many of the techniques used with traditional watercolor. If you have never painted or just painted a little on your own, this is a perfect class to gain some good basic skills. We also learn about the use of color, composition, how to render reflections and shadows, atmospheric perspective, and the proper use of the brush.

• Azo Yellow

• Cobalt Blue

• Napthol Red

• Transparent Iron Red Oxide

• Paynes Gray

• Synthetic Watercolor Brushes:

• Rounds, Size: #6, #10, #14

• Other Supplies:

• Large Covered Palette (over 12”x12’)

• 1 sheet Arches 140 CP paper (cut into 8x10s)

• Gatorboard or other stiff backing to support paper

• Brush Soap

• 12” ruler or longer

• 4B pencil

• Kneaded Eraser

• Razor or Exacto Blade

• Masking tape

• Swing Arm Stapler (for Gatorboard or tape for other support)

• Hair Dryer

• Paper Towels
